The Hunters Point Shipyard is a site rich with a layered history beginning with the original Ohlone settlements, the Chinese shrimp fisherman, former Navy base, and the thirty years presence of a unique artist community. An environment with a history as rich and layered, left alone by man, abused by man and ultimately reborn and healed by man. A place to honor and celebrate this mixture of hurt and ultimately of pride.
We have chosen the services of the WESTAF for this national call to artists. Use their free online application named CaFÉ. Go to www.callforentry.com to find easy-to-follow instructions on how to respond to submit your qualifications
and respond to this, as well as other public art opportunities.
Questions & Answers for Phase I Submittal of Qualifications may be communicated to the HPS Public Art Planning Team by telephone or online prior to September 9, 2009. Answers to all questions are anonymous and will be posted on this website at periodic intervals.
